Don’s Dry Cleaning & Laundry Collects Nearly 5000 Coats for its Coat-A-Kid Program
EVANSVILLE, Ind. โ Steve Schmitt, owner of Don’s Dry Cleaning & Laundry DCI Fine DryCleaning, is committed to annually providing a winter coat for every child who needs one. Since its implementation at the local level, the Coat-A-Kid initiative has distributed over 150,000 coats throughout the community. Each year, from October through December, community members are invited to bring gently used and new coats to any Don’s Dry Cleaning & Laundry location. The coats are cleaned, if needed, and distributed to area infants, children, and teens via the Salvation Army, Evansville Christian Life Center, and in Boonville, at Hope Central.
As Steve Schmitt announces the results of the 2016 Coat-a-Kid campaign, he notes, โThe final count is in.ย We did 4863 thousand coats.ย That is one thousand up from last year.โ He adds, ย โWe still have some if you need them.โ In expressing his gratitude to donors, volunteers, and participating agencies, Schmitt enthuses, โGreat job, everyone.ย Thanks again for helping on this very worthy cause.โ
